Happy Fall Y'all!

So much of our week featured Fun Fall Happenings!!!

There was a trip to the movies with Grammy!

And we went to Sea World's Spooktacular!...

...where we did some trick-or-treating...

...and saw a few festive shows!...

But the MOST fun we had this week was bringing some Fall Cheer to (some of) our family and friends!!!

A couple of weeks ago the kids were reminiscing about how we made caramel apples this time last year. I wasn't planning to make that a repeat adventure this year, but shoot, the kids ACTUALLY remembered something fun I had done with them, and it pulled on my heart strings a bit when they asked when we were going to do it again.

Sooooo, we made that happen this week! :0) We stick-ed our apples...

...whipped up a batch of homemade caramel...

...dipped the apples, then candied them...

...and even drizzled a bit of chocolate on some of them...

The kids looooved making and EATING their treats!!!...

But while we were making the caramel apples, I was pondering "WHAT AM I GOING TO DO WITH ALL OF THESE TREATS!?!?!"

In that moment, something came over me...one thing lead to another..I was plotting...I was planning...the next thing I know I became the crazy baking lady! (One of my very favorite Elizabeth's!!!)

Caramel apples wouldn't be the only thing coming out of my kitchen...we would add pumpkin cupcakes with a cinnamon cream cheese frosting...

...and because I had all of the ingredients just chillin' in my kitchen, I thought, "Hey! Let's make a batch of sugar cookies too!"...and so we did...

We have so many wonderful people in our life, and so it was really difficult to narrow down a list of who we would deliver all of our treats to. BUT as I was scanning my mental list of fab friends and family, it occurred to me that so many of our friends (or their children) suffer from quite a few food allergies. A lot of our friends can't have sugar, or dairy/egg products...that made the task of forming a list a BIT easier. But even still, I wish I had had enough treats to give to SO MANY MORE! :0/

In the evening, I organized our drop-off route for the next day...the kids and I were all so excited to bring Fall Cheer to our friends and family in the morning!!!

We started off at my sister's house...of course! ;0)

We chatted just for a few minutes, and we got to see the Halloween decorations they had just put up...

And then we made our way to a friend's house...Shout-out to Veronica! :0)

The kids loved seeing each other, even if it was for a SHORT time! The girls were ready to dive into full Princess mode when I announced, "We must keep going...time to say goodbye!" :0)

Our next stop was Grammy Barb's house!

There were no other little children at her house, but there WERE toys...

...and TREATS!!!...

...and I SO enjoyed perusing all of her festive decorations scattered throughout her house...

I don't do Pinterest because I know I would be addicted to it...Grammy Barb doesn't use Pinterest because she doesn't need it!...our friend is a creative GENIUS!...

Next stop on our list was Grandpa and Grandma Piton's house!!!!...only, they weren't there. :0( But we knew that in advance. :0)

They left us a key...we left them some treats...

...Even though they weren't home, the kids played in their toy room anyway, lol...AND Grandpa and Grandma Piton had left gifts for the kids on their staircase! Needless to say, the kids thought this was a GREAT stop on our route! ;0)

But the day must go on! :0)

We then made our way to Grammy Pammy, and DziaDzia Myke's house!!! :0) I took a picture of them...

...they wanted a picture of us...

SUCH FUN!!!

Our next stop took care of two of our friends at just one location...Shout-out to Deana & Katie!!! (Only, Katie wasn't there :0(...but her kids were!!! :0) )

My kids had a blast playing with their friends...on a play structure...outside...in a backyard, LOL!!! It's the small things...sometimes. ;0)

A short time later, we were "On the road again..."

Great Grandma Sally and Great Grandpa Bill were every bit as excited to see us as we were to see them!!!

Great Grandma Sally has a TON of bejewelled trinket boxes that Beatrice LOOOOOVES to touch..."TIME TO GOOOO!!!!" ;0)

And then...our final stop...my mom's house...to deliver treats to her husband "G-G" (which stands for "Grandpa Gary")!

He was another one that was not home for our arrival, but it still was fun to think of him, and leave surprise treats for him when he arrived home from a long day at work. :0)

And again, just because grandparents aren't home, that does not equate to "drop-and-go." :0/ There was still a play room to be played in, and a snack cupboard to be raided! :-0

By the time we got back to our house, we were all exhausted! From start to finish, our adventure took us 4-1/2 hours...not too shabby if you ask me! :0) But there was LOTS of playing!...LOTS of treat-ing!...and LOTS of partial conversation-ing! (Insert need-for-nap here)

Because we have done caramel apples 2 years in a row, I think that is now a SOLID "Fall tradition" for our home! BUT even more so, I look forward to making our "No-tricks...ONLY-treating...Happy-Fall-Y'all" happen again next year, so that THAT will become our new SOLID "Fall tradition!" It was so nice to give back to those that give so much to us throughout the year!

We have so enjoyed receiving all of the lovely thank you's in the form of text messages...snail-mail cards...and pictures!!!...

I have a full 12 months to think about how I can make this tradition even bigger and better!!! ;0) More friends for sure! More treats FOR SURE! :0)

Until next October...Happy Fall Y'all!!!
