He Is Risen...He Is Risen Indeed! Easter 2013

The kids and I started off the Easter celebrations early this year. On a whim we decided to scrap our "Plan A" schedule for our day, and instead, we dove right in to "Plan B"...making Rice Krispie Treat nests while watching "Its the Easter Beagle Charlie Brown"...

They were good enough to eat!...

On Friday, we got to have the wonderful honor to host my sister Anna and her boys, and my step-mom at our church for Good Friday service. Good Friday service is my favorite service of the year...always. There is something so special, so humbling, so emotional about taking the focus off of what we can get from Him...but reflecting on what He did for us. I am so unworthy.

On Saturday my mom hosted the start to her annual 2-day Easter LaLaPalooza! Saturday is all kinds of ridiculous fun and activities. There was a jumpy this year...

...egg coloring...

...cookie and cupcake decorating...

...a surprise pie to the face (Hey, my sister revealed that this was an item on her bucket list...we were HAPPY to assist her in checking that item off of her list!)...

...sidewalk chalk drawing, video game playing, and lots, and lots, and LOTS of wardrobe changes...

Easter Sunday is all about church service in the morning, and then a more formal brunch with extended family in the afternoon.

Our kiddos looked gorgeous (if I do say so myself, lol)...

In fact, all of the grand kids looked incredible!...

And speaking of attire, my sister and I were surprised to find that we had each bought an Easter dress VERY SIMILAR to each other, lol!

After lunch, it was time for the Easter Egg hunt...

Ready, Set, GO!...

We had such a wonderful weekend! Wyatt especially loved Grammy's fresh-squeezed apple juice...

...and Beatrice has spent the evening literally crying about how much she misses her cousins already. :0(

The Down Low (2013, Weeks 12 & 13)

Our prior 2 weeks were packed with all kinds of fun happenings!

There was a "boys only" movie date with Rick and Wyatt to see G.I. Joe.

There was a field trip to the Balboa Theater to see a performance of "Bluegrass and Bach"...

That field trip was a lot of fun. The kids were really well behaved...but only if Beatrice's "Twinkle Toes" shoes would not have lit up the dark auditorium every time she wiggled her body, we wouldn't have had a strict talking to by the ushers. :0(

We also had lots of playtime in Wyatt's room...

...setting up Lego scenes and such...

And speaking of Legos, we ventured back to LEGOLAND. We did some of the things we had done on our first trip there. But mostly, we explored new sights and structures.

There was digging and discovering dinosaur bones...

And playing at a HUGE Duplo play area...

I'm pretty sure SHE had the BEST time!...

What do you do with giant Legos after you stack them?

Sit on them, of course!

Uncle Scot came to visit all the way from Indiana!

Having an ACTUAL Magician in the family is never-ending-fun for this boy...

Since the time Scot has left us, we have been viewers of MANY *fascinating* magic shows performed by "Wyatt the Great".

And finally, in all things active-play, we climbed Cowles Mountain again...

...kicked off our swimming season at 2-B's house...

...and right after we fed the ducks...

....we did a 6 mile run (for me), and bike ride (for Wyatt).

I'll divulge all Easter details in a separate post. :0)

But that's the down-low on our up-and-up...until next time!
